to be completely honest, i don't feel that this past year was worthy of creating a list of the top albums to come out in 2008. instead here are my top 20 artists listened to last year, as charted by last.fm. unfortunately, i didn't scrobble my ipod for probably 11 months out of the year, so it can't be entirely accurate, not to mention i actually still listen to music on a stereo. whatever, still found it interesting!

1. saves the day
2. built to spill
3. kevin devine
4. brand new
5. alkaline trio
6. rx bandits
7. band of horses
8. neutral milk hotel
9. hanson
10. modest mouse
11. new found glory
12. born ruffians
13. the dodos
14. blink-182
15. the kooks
16. the long winters
17. manchester orchestra
18. vampire weekend
19. set your goals
20. you me and everyone we know/fall out boy (tied)

built to spill was a huge huge obsession for me this past year, and i'm still entirely in love with them. new musical discoveries such as born ruffians and the dodos made the charts. old favorites like hanson and blink-182 still get tons of plays. oh, and of course those bands you all know me for loving.

here's hopes that 2009 will bring amazing new tunes. new rx bandits album sounds promising! :)

Current Music: hot hot heat.

RX Bandits, Saves the Day, and New Found Glory are all playing Bamboozle Left in Irvine, California. I am 99% sure I will be there, and I am stoked. Also Finch is playing, which I am excited about!

Fall semester is over! Six weeks of break. starts NOW I'm picking up an extra day at work... other than that I plan on sleeping, drinking, and enjoying my wonderful city with my best friend.

That's all. Later.

RXB are touring in November. The Chicago date is tba, but Maja and I will be going to that one and to the Madison show! I am so stoked. It's not fair that I've only seen that band twice this year. Ugh!

In other news:
+ I love Spanish. I'm taking Spanish II. Hahaha.
+ My Applied Marketing: Recording Industry class is really interesting. Plus Emily is in that class with me!
- I have no idea where I am going to be one year from now. I really want to live in the dorms but I need to save a lot of money over the summer and get scholarships in order for that to happen. I'm so sick of this apartment.
- You are really really dumb. LOLOL. I h8 you.
- "I'm having a bad week and I miss my mom." Chris Conley always knows.
+ Hey Mercedes tonight for FREE with some favorites. :)
+/? Maja found this guy that she says I am going to marry... she's crazy. He's a good artist, though. Not that that gives me bonerz or anything, it's just cool.

...K I should go to class now.

Tonight I got drunk, went to see Limbeck, and fell down some stairs at the Subterranean.

So classy.

this past weekend was pretty fun.

saturday i went to see taking back sunday and armor for sleep in milwaukee with maja, mike, and my brother jack. the sound in the eagles ballroom is so shitty, and i have to say that my attention was averted so much from the show. but i couldn't help it... honestly, it was the most ridiculous crowd i have ever seen. first of all, underoath was playing, so you know there were a lot of scene kids there. but seriously 99% of the crowd was insane. i can't even describe the things that were happening, but i basically couldn't stop laughing the whole night. i'm just glad my brother had fun. i was afraid he'd be bored, but i'm pretty sure that the crowd/mike's lame jokes entertained him enough.

milwaukee is so ghetto though, for real. we went to taco bell afterwards, and it had this bulletproof drive-thru window that we weren't allowed to pull up to until they flagged us up, basically. lmfao. and don't get me started on milwaukee construction.

as far as the bands go, it was pretty alright. adam lazzara sang justin timberlake and the killers, and the crowd screamed every time he played the harmonica. cute without the e is still one of my favorite songs to see live (in general, not just by taking back sunday). i think of becka every time (if you are reading this, i love youuuu!). haha :)

that's all. rx motherfucking bandits in 9 days, brand new in 14/15/17. (i haven't started my saves the day or bamboozle countdowns yet!) stellar.

I haven't yet decided whether or not all entries will be made friends only.
